There are many things that happened during Pierre’s early life. Pierre Omidyar was born on June 21, 1967. He was born in Paris, France. His mother’s name is Mir-Djalali. Very little has been released about his father. Pierre’s childhood was hard at times. He moved frequently causing having to make new friends. At age six, he moved to the east coast of Washington D.C. During gym class, he snuck out of the class to play with computers. He was also hired to print cards for the school library. He earned $6 an hour for making them. He then went to school at Tufts University. He is now married to Pamela Wesley. He and his wife now have two children. Those were only some of the things that happened during his early life.

There were also some challenges during his childhood. There were not many kids around to make friends with. Most of his time, he had to hang out with grownups. Also Palm Inc. had a personal digital assistant. The assistant had some success with technology. The success never crossed to more mainstream computing. Those were some challenges during his life.

There were contributions in Pierre’s life. In 1995, Pierre Omidyar changed Auction Web, the original auction site, into eBay. He created eBay to help his girlfriend with her quest to collect and trade Pez dispensers. In early 1996, he quit his daily job to focus on eBay full time. In late 1997, there were more than three million items. In January 1998, there were more than one million registered users. eBay now has over 1,000 categories to shop from online. The site was created on his personal Web page. Later, he set up a non-profit organization. Why does eBay make so much money? eBay makes a lot of money because they ship things. Those were only some of the contributions throughout his life.

He has some awards and recognitions. In 2005, the net was valued at approximately ten billion! He is now recognized as the Founder of eBay. He also gave a Commencement Address during his speech at Tufts University. He is also known as one of the richest and most financially successful people. Those were the reasons that he is recognized and awarded for.
