Philippe Petit

Philippe Petit was a famous French tight rope wirist who gained most of his fame through tight-rope walking in between the Twin Towers in 1974. But not only was he an incredibly talented tight-rope walker, he was also a renowned street juggler, magician, unicyclist, and a mime.

Petit was born on August 13, 1949, and begun his career as a street performer in 1968. Not only did he tight-rope walk in between The World Trade Center, he also walked across other international landmarks such as The Notre Dame Cathedral in France, and a year prior to the World Trade Center he tight-rope walked across Sydney Harbour Bridge in Sydney, Australia.

I think Philippe Petit is an incredibly inspirational artist, and was one the greatest daredevils of his time. He is brave, and his perseverance is moving, and his spectacular stunts set the bar for many more daredevils to come.
