Patricia Polacco is a hero because of how she contains caring and influential traits. Her inspiring stories and lessons have made a positive impact on people, therefore, she is a hero to me. Patricia shows her kind, caring traits by being involved with events and activities that am to make the world a better place. Her great work inspires people everyday, and teaches them about never giving up, and acceptance. Her work inspires people everyday, that things can change for the better, and that there is always some kind of good out there. That is the work of a true hero. Patricia Polacco had dyslexia until around after the age of 14. She went through many hardships and bullying at school as well. However, she didn't let those hardships define her. She worked hard and got through her dyslexia. She later on became a well known author and illustrator, of many great children's books. This inspires me that no matter what, if you really work hard enough to make a difference, you can get through the tough situations in life. There is always time to change, and there is always hope. "Do not underestimate a moment of your kindness. It has the power to change lives in ways you may never know." - Patricia Polacco, a true hero.
