What is Paul Revere to you? To me he is an idol that was willing to sacrifice everything to help his country to be liberated from Britain. Paul Revere was an awesome person because he was a hero, didn't take credit, and was a silversmith that could make a masterpiece.
Paul Revere was an amazing silversmith. "He learned silversmithing from his father who dedicated his life to it" (PRbiography). "He made many beautiful pieces of art" (PRbiography). He had to run his dads business when his father died when Paul was 19. He continued to create beautiful pieces of art until he feared the revolution would interrupt his business. Then he decided to help the colonists and made many of the supplies they needed. He also made an engraving depicting the British firing into an orderly crowd. This was one of the most efficient propaganda for turning people against the British. He was able to turn many people against the British with this engraving. This shows the skill he must have had.
Although he helped so much in the revolution, he did not take credit for many of the things he did until later after he died. "Not until 1861, when Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote the poem "Paul Revere Ride" (PR Ducksters). Paul Revere wasn't the most important guy in the revolution but he did play a huge role. He was the supplier in the army. He supplied the colonists with gunpowder and cannons. He enrolled in the army but got kicked out for repeatedly disobeying orders.
Even though he didn't take the credit, we all know that he was a hero. Not just from the midnight ride, but from his overall effect in the revolutionary war. "Paul Revere was a hero because he risked his life for the colonists" (PRmyhero). He didn't just risk his life he committed treason against his country which would have gotten him executed. "He agreed to be a leader even when it would have put him in grave danger" (PRmyhero). He led the people and he even helped turn people against Britain with the Boston massacre engraving. He helped the revolution so much some might think that it wouldn't have been possible without his help. He saved some people too. He rode several hundred miles to warn people that the British are coming. He saved so many people by allowing the colonists enough time to hide the guns and weapons from the British protecting the people from being expected of treason.
