Pernell Karl Subban

A hero is someone that you look up to as a role model. This hero is an example by which you should live your life every day. P.K. Subban is a defencemen for the Montreal Canadiens of the national hockey league. I chose him as my hero because he has an extremely large amount of talent and composure. He knows when to be respectful and when to get competitive with the other team. When you watch Subban play, you are never disappointed by his performance. He always leaves you impressed. Every time you see him he does something new and exciting. Subban is never satisfied by his performance and wants to better himself each time. For some reason, he seems to score all his goals at important moments like to win a game or to tie a game in the third period. When this happens, let's just say my family is aware of it and by the way, they don't watch hockey.

P.K. Subban was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He was born in the year 1989 on May 13th. Subban still has both his parents, Karl and Maria. He also has four siblings, two sisters and two brothers named Natassia, Natasha, Malcom, Jordan. Jordan and Malcom are both hockey players. Jordan is a forward and Malcom is a goalie. Karl and Maria immigrated from Jamaica in the 70s to give their children a better life. I am pretty sure that they have managed to accomplish their goal because their three sons got to play hockey and at high levels. They are all good enough to play at the NHL level.

P.K. Subban has a lot of qualities but here are his 5 top ones. Energetic: he is not scared to carry his team if they are down and he will do anything to get his team back in the game. Aggressive: P.K. Subban is not necessarily an aggressive player but he will deliver a big hit to protect his goalie or to retain the puck. Self-assured: if someone makes fun of Subban or the rest of his team he will stand up for his team. Subban has had problems with other players about race issues. Eloquent and at ease, when Subban is interviewed he has a very good vocabulary and you would think he was casually talking to one of his friends. Leadership: Subban will do anything to win which makes him an excellent leader. He will also do anything to protect his teammates.

When P.K. Subban first got drafted in 2007, he was 2nd round pick, 43rd overall. When you look at that today, you would be surprised and confused. If you see him play today, you would give him at least 1st round pick 2nd overall. This season was Subban's first NHL season. At the beginning of it, Jacques Martin, the coach of the Canadiens, was benching Subban because he thought he had an attitude problem. Subban would later show him up by being the top defensemen for the Montreal Canadiens. You will not see him get benched anymore. Throughout the past 3 years, he has shown extreme improvement.

P.K. Subban being a hero speaks for itself. He went from coming in at the beginning of the year unknown and now his jersey is the most sold out of all the Montreal Canadiens. He has already accomplished so much in one year. Just think about how much he will accomplish in a 20 year career. His success is not all because of him. The man standing beside him on the ice, Hall Gill, has been like a big brother to Subban and has shown him what it takes to be a top player in a professional hockey league. I think P.K. Subban should be a lot of people's hero because he has good morals and is a great example by which you can live your life every day.
