My hero is Patrick Daniel Tillman Jr. Pat Tillman is my hero because he always had a positive attitude towards everyone and everything he did. Pat was fearless. He would climb up buildings, the light tower in the stadium. Pat left the NFL to serve his country. He gave up a lot of money to help his country.

It's an injustice that Tillman would be killed by "friendly fire" only to have military officials cover it up and lie to his family. He defeated the odds. They said he wouldn't make the university Football league and he stayed positive and he worked hard to show he could play at that level. He was about to go in to the NFL and he was faced with the same odds. Arizona took a chance on him and drafted him in 1998.

After 9/11 he was really mad and wanted to do something so after he got married to his high school sweetheart and finished his season, he and his brother enrolled in the US Rangers. They committed to staying in the army for three years. An NFL team offered him a contract and he said no, he committed to three years and stuck to his word.

On April 22,2004 Pat Tillman got killed by friendly fire. He tried everything to get them to stop shooting at him and the other people he was with on the side of the mountain. There is a foundation in his Name and one game out of the NFL season everyone had to wear the number 40 on the back of their helmet. There is also a football field in his name. The tunnel at the Arizona State University is named after Pat too.

Pat Tillman is my hero. He had a dream and he worked really hard to get there. He defeated the odds and gave up a lot for his country. People will never forget Pat Tillman. He is a hero to many .
