Rosa Parks

by Elizabeth from Longmont

Will this boycott continue until we are free to sit were we want when we want

Rosa Parks is famous for not giving up her seat. She is a symbol for the civil rights movement. Rosa Parks is a hero for her bravery, sacrifice for and never giving up.

Rosa Parks was a hero for her bravery of standing up to a white. No other black person had ever done that before but she stayed brave, even when the white driver said, "If you don't move, I will have you arrested." Rosa Parks got arrested at the age of 48, but she still stayed brave.

Rosa Parks sacrificed her life even thought she might have been arrested forever or even killed by one of the Ku Klux Klan, aka KKK, for being the leader of the boycott, which made the whites mad at the black folks because if the blacks did not ride the bus, the busses would loose a lot of money. She did not care about her sacrifice because she wanted things to change.

Rosa Parks did not give up, ever. She was tired of the whites treating the blacks horrible just because of their race and skin color. The boycott went on for a while. Martin Luther King, Jr and Rosa Parks were the first two people to ask this question [will this boycott continue until we are free to sit where we want when we want] When everyone cheered, they knew there would soon be changes.

Rosa Parks was a hero because of her sacrifices, bravery, and for never giving up. If it wasn't for her we would probably still be sitting in the back of the bus and being bossed around by whites.
