Pele

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, also known as "Pele" is a retired Brazilian soccer or futbol player. To some he is a legend. He was born on October 23, 1940 in Tres Corascoes, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He always watched his father, another great soccer player, play in his games. He learned the game and fell in love. Although with work to help out his family, he couldn't get out and play much, but when he did he was making a statement in the soccer community. He was getting looked at from other great soccer players and started to play more often.

He was scouted from Waldemar de Brito and later joined the amateur club known as Clube Atltico Bauru when he was only 15. At 16 he tried out for Santos Futebol Clube and made the team. He signed for the team and was the leagues leading scorer. He won 3 World Cups and played in 4, including the 1970 World Cup in which the Brazilian team is widely considered to be the single greatest group of players to grace the field ever.

Born to Joso Ramos do Nascimento and Dona Celeste, his father was nicknamed Dondinho and was a famous footballer for the Fluminense Football Club.Pele is 75 this year and is going strong. He is a scout for Premiership League team Fulham FC and is helping them out tremendously.

Pele is important to me because he can stop wars, oh did i not mention that. In 1970 two Nigerian groups were in a civil war, when they had a 48 hour cease fire to go watch Pele play. Pele to me is one of the greatest soccer players in the world. He showed a different side of football that no one had seen before. He has over 1,281 in only 1,363 games. Pele has changed how I play soccer in general with the bicycle kick and all the moves have changed how i played
