Pele

Pele was the best soccer player in the world at his time but inorder to be the best soccer player in the world you need to practice and be 100% dedicated to the sport or acctivity you are doing. Pele was 100% dedicated to the sport of soccer. He would play soccer whenever he could. He was so dedicated that he even skipped school just to play soccer.when he was younger he didn't even have a soccer ball he had to use rags budled together. He made soccer more popular by going to the United States and making people more interested in soccer and he did.

Edson Arentes do Nascimento or as his fans call him Pele. Pele is also called many other manes like O rei do futebol which means the king of football. Pele is considered the best soccer player in the world at his time. But it was hard for Pele because he grew up in a very poor family, when he wasn't playing soccer he was shinning peoples shies for pennies. His father was a professional soccer player but his career was shortly over when he fractured his leg. Pele and some other of his team mates were invited to play in Baquinho Boy's team and they will be managed by former brazilian international Waldemar Brito who went ot the 1934 wold cup in Italy. There team won the 1954 Youth Championship and Pele scored 148 goals in 33 games.Later Brito brought Pele to Santos a city in Soa Paulo and thats were Pele begon his career.

Brito brought Pele to Soa Paulo so he could play for a professional team called Santos. Brito told the directors in the place that this 15 year old is going to be the best soccer player in the world.Pele In the 1957 season on Santos Pelewas given a starting possitoin on the team and when he was just 16 years old he became the top scorer in the league.in November 19,1969 Pele scored his 1000th goal in all copetitions the goal was called O Milesimo(teh Thousandth).The thousandth goal happened when Pele was taking a free kick. Ten months after he had turned pro he was ofered to play for the Brazilian National team. After the 1962 World Cup all the wealthy Europeans teams wanted Pele to play for them because he was so good but Brazil wouldn't allow Pele to be traded to another team because Brazil declared Pele as an "official national treasure". Pele said that his most beautiful goal happened when Sao Paulo was playing a tough team and also there rivals Jueventus on August 2,1959 but that goal can not be seen because the game was not filmed.In March 1961 Pele has scored the gol de placa(goal worthy of a plaque)the goal was so amasing that a plaque was commissined with a dedication to the beautiful goal in the history of the Maracana.

After the 1972 seaon with Santos (17 years with Santos) Pele has announced his retirement from the Brazilian football club. But then 2 years later he has joined the New York Cosmos for the 1975 season. Becaues of Pele coming to the United States he has made soccer more interesting and alot more people stared likeing it so soccer became vert popular in the US. Pele has led the Cosmos the the NASL championship in his third and final year of playing soccer for the Cosmos. On October 1,1977 Pele has retired for good and he announced it at Giants Stadium. For his last game he played with the Cosmos the first half and his old team Santos for the second half.

To me Pele is the best soccer player of all time. He's been voted the Athlete of the Century by FIFA. He has won the Lauraeus World Sports award ad the Life time Achievement award from South Africa. he had 1281 goals in 1363 games in his whole life as a professinoal soccer player. He came in third place of the all time top goalscores in international matches. Pele has done alot to be remembered and his name is known all around the world because of his outsanding soccer skills.
