Asafa Powell

Hi, my name is Tristan. I chose Asafa Powell because he grew up in a third world country and has a lot of characteristics. Before he became a world class runner he thought about being an engineer. His teacher told him he could be a runner. That was just a small step in his career. He is a very strong-minded person and he has fought through all his losses to become a world class runner.

Asafa Powell has done a lot. He has shown people, that no matter where you are born, you can do whatever you want. He was born in a third world country, and he still became a world class runner. He has shown people about hope, and that God cares about you and all the other people of the world. He has lost brothers that were murdered in a cab, fallen dead on a football field and his father, Reverend Powell, was shot in the jaw during a robbery attempt. Asafa became the fastest man in the world on June 14th, 2005.

Asafa Powell lives in Jamaica on the Carribean Sea. He lives in Linstead, St. Catherine. He went to a school in nearby Kingston, the largest city in Jamaica, for his parents' sake. It was the third world, but he still went to school and lived there.

Asafa Powell was born on November 23, 1982. They say he was born a Jamaican runner, and still is a Jamaican runner. He is 25 years old and has the record for fastest man in the world. I think he'll beat his own record.
