Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go up in space? To fly around the earth. See what space looks like? I wanted to do that. I had dreams what it might look like. Dr. Roberta has seen it in real life. She was the first Canadian astronaut and my hero's quote is KNOWLEDGE IS A POWER.

My hero was born in 1945 December 4. My hero went to University of McMaster in Ontario and for high school she went to Sault Ste. Marie High School. For grades 1-6, she went to school in the Philippines. I picked Dr. Roberta because I think it is cool that a woman went up in space. That makes girls inspired to believe in themselves.

Dr. Roberta is a hero because she was the first Canadian astronaut to go in space. I thought that it was really brave of her to do that and if that was me I would have been so scared. She represents our country and I know that even a school is named after her and so that is how I think Dr. Roberta is a hero.

For my hero's character traits are .....Courage - My hero has courage because she went up in space and that takes courage. Another character trait is Responsibility. Dr.Roberta showed responsibility when she went up in space and she was doing her job and she was on track. Perseverance-I think my hero has perseverance because it took a lot of training and she never gave up.

My hero influences me by anything |I will do I can do it. I may look to see if my hero can do it, so can I. If I think it's too hard I can think of my hero and try as hard as my hero did. I can do anything if a woman can go into space. A woman can be anything if she wants to.

So now you know who my hero is and information about my hero. Some pictures of my hero and what I learned by doing this project is pretty cool things about my hero and at first I never knew who Dr.Roberta was but now I do.
