Reki Kawahara

by Ryan from Cleveland

Reki Kawahara is the writer for an immensely popular anime called Sword Art Online (otherwise known as SAO.) He has also made a popular anime called Accel World.

He was born in 1974 in Gunma Prefecture, Japan. He has two sisters and a mother and a father. When he was in college, he joined the manga studies club. He drew manga illustrations while he was in the club. He would often go to a nearby arcade and play fighting games with his friends. He enjoyed playing Ragnarok Online, Star Craft 2 and World of Warcraft which were all MMO games He usually ended up playing alone. He played American MMO's and he could not communicate with his teammates who only spoke English. I think the way he played video games inspired him to make SAO. I think this because he played games by himself like the main character in SAO, Kirito. Also, SAO is all about MMO's and he loved to play MMO's.

I think he is a hero since in his anime, he expressed so much emotion, people cry and laugh at the same time watching it. He loves his job and he inspires people to do what they want to do. He shows them that somebody that starts off small can become a big success.

I would like to have Reki's job if I could. Even though he didn't believe that his work would get so many viewers or fans, it still became popular even in America. He has many caring fans and he inspires many people. I would like to have those traits. Reki was smart. He joined the manga club in college which led to the success of his manga and anime because in his club, they would study about manga and share ideas with each other. Also, Reki is passionate about manga and I don't think that he will stop writing manga anytime soon.

To sum up, Reki is a hero. He brought joy to me by his anime and manga. In his work, he made me have many emotions about the characters and I have more compassion for lonely people like Kirito (main character in SAO). I think an enormous amount of people would agree with me because his work is so popular.
