Randy Moffett

by Charlotte from Georgia

My dad is my hero. His name is Randy Rutherford Moffett. He grew up in Atlanta and attended Marist School. He went to Sewanee University for college. He is a professor at SCAD and teaches political science there. He also is a huge Georgia Bulldogs fan. He lives in Savannah, Georgia, with my family and me today.

I think that my dad is a hero because he helps people out a lot. Also, he cleans up our yard, paints the house, and makes our house look nice. My dad also lets people pursue their own interest by teaching other people political science, which makes him a hero. And he pays for me to go to school and keeps me in school. Some hero characteristics that my dad has are caring, honesty, thoughtfulness, helpfulness and being loving.

My dad’s hero characteristics are similar to and different from the hero qualities admired by the Greeks. They are similar because he is strong, confident, intelligent, and compassionate like Zeus, Prometheus, and Heracles. He is different because he doesn’t kill people and he isn’t a prince, king, or god like King Aegeus or Eurestheus. My dad is an amazing hero.
