Rosa Parks

by Shamaya from Philadelphia

"Have you ever been hurt and the place tries to heal a bit, and you just pull the scar off of it over and over again."
Rosa Parks
Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks was born on February 4, 1913. I choose Rosa Parks as my hero because to me she is a strong African American lady. Rosa Parks is the reason buses are not segregated still today. She got locked up for a good cause it was to stop segregation of buses.

He struggles were overcoming slavery, having limited rights, and going to jail. She overcame them by not giving up her seat, even after being told to by authorities. Rosa Parks is no longer living but her story lives on. She died on October 24, 2005 of progressive dementia. Her accomplishments were desegregating buses and still having faith.
