Is there a person in your life who is a hero to you? Well I do, and her name is Rosa Parks! She was born on February 4, 1913, to proud parents James and Leona McCauley. Most people see her as a woman who didn't want to get up from her seat because she was tired. I see a whole different story in this situation. What I see is a woman tired of giving in to all the segregation and prejudice. She didn't do this for herself; she also did it for black rights. This woman had all the right to be called fearless; she had more courage than anyone. The three words I would use to describe her are.... courageous, a leader and determination.

"Mother of Modern Day Civil Rights Movement" Rosa spent most of her life trying to fight for desegregation and voting rights of her people, and was active in the Civil Rights movement in the United States. Rosa had a reason for all the things she did, but in a soft quiet voice she would say, "Do what is right." She was an amazing woman for what she did for blacks

When she refused to get up from her seat on a bus and move to the back just because of the color of her skin, she made history change that day. It doesn't seem that she planned to make her protest that day, but yes it does seem as though she was prepared when the time came. As for the rest of the blacks, they were ready to react when such a protest was made, if not by her, then by someone else who others respected and who could be a role model like she was. Willing to be a role model, willing to take the first step, is one of the three things Rosa Parks has become to people in their lives who heard about her. The values were important enough to Rosa for her to take a risk

She refused to sit on the back of the bus, where at the time blacks were segregated there. When she sat near the front of the bus, it caused a lot of problems and was the beginning of racial problems for Rosa. But that's not all. She was day dreaming, so when someone asked her for her seat, she stood up to let the person beside her out that was next to her and sat back down, to let the person know she wasn't moving. Rosa had determination for saying "NO". She was arrested and charged $10 which she refused to pay. After one year, the boycott ended when the Supreme Court ruled segregation wasn't right at all.

In conclusion, Rosa Parks wasn't tired, she was 42 and she wasn't old at the time. The only thing she was tired of was giving in. I don't blame Mrs. Parks at all and I don't care what the bus driver had to say about it. Rosa is a good woman, and she was known as a national hero everywhere. She was known as a woman who stood up against racism and fought for freedom for blacks. She is still loved and missed all through America, but still lives in our hearts. She did this for blacks' rights, and also I believe if that she would have gotten up, then she wouldn't have the respect she has this very day. That's why Rosa Parks is my hero!
