Ryan Sheckler

Born on December 30, 1989 Ryan was raised in San Clemente with his siblings Shane Thomas Sheckler and Kane Randall Sheckler in Southern California. His parents Randy Sheckler and Gretchen Walsh Sheckler were happily married until Ryan's mother suddenly died of cancer. When Ryan became at the age of 13 he began to start skateboarding. When he was older he was a special guest star on Teen Nick with Tony Hawk and got 1st place in 2004 LG sports championships. Ryan encouraged many people to do what they love and never back down. He fought for what he loved and eventually became famous for his love for skateboarding. At times Ryan also took the gold medal against Eric Koston in the 2003 X-Games. Soon enough Ryan raised more than 200,000 dollars for the Childrens Cancer Research Fund from skateboarding.  

Some of Sheckler's struggles include the death of his mother and the competition of the other Professional Skaters. Sheckler quoted that he wanted to be "the greatest" but was not able to compare to Tony Hawk who was "The Godfather" of skateboarding. I choose Ryan Sheckler because I skate myself also and I am interested in trying to become a professional skater and use the money raised to donate to others in need just as Ryan did. I choose Ryan Sheckler because although he is mostly known for his skateboarding skills, I make him my Hero because the fact that with the money and things he has done for others in need.
