Richard Sherman

by Andrew Norman from Reynoldsburg High School

If I could choose one person who is my inspiration, I would choose Richard Sherman. Sherman is a defensive back who plays for the Seattle Seahawks. Due to his hard work, determination, and countless contributions to his community, he inspires me.

In high school, Sherman played wide receiver and cornerback, just like me. He led his team to a state championship, the ultimate goal for my high school team, the Reynoldsburg Raiders. Sherman continued his career in college as a Stanford Cardinal and recorded amazing stats throughout his career. Today, Sherman is seen as one of the best defensive backs in the NFL and he works hard every game. I love the way Richard Sherman plays, he hustles, works hard, and backs up all of his talk. Sherman is not only great on the field, but off the field as well.

Sometimes Sherman is seen as a bad person. Boastful, abrasive, but to me, Richard Sherman is great. He does many things to give back, including "Blanket Coverage- The Richard Sherman Foundation". Blanket Coverage is a charity that makes sure that students are provided with school supplies and clothing. Also, Sherman conducted a SWAG (Students with a goal) tour, in which he attended schools and gave motivational speeches to hundreds of students about life. Ultimately, Richard Sherman, to me, is an inspiration. He has worked hard his whole life and he continues to work hard. Sherman inspires me not only as a football player, but as a person.
