"You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it"(Charity Work & Causes). Robin Williams, an actor who helped make the film industry what it is today, overcame depression, alcohol and drug addiction. He showed people how to make the best of their life, even though he was going through so much himself. He was a hero. A hero can mean many things, to me a hero just needs to make someone happy. They need to be able to make a person laugh in the face of adversity.  What also makes him a hero is that he kept on doing what he was passionate about, and not just doing what everyone wanted.

Actor and comedian Robin McLaurin Williams was born on July 21, 1951, in Chicago, Illinois, to Robert Williams, an executive for a Ford Motor company and his mother Laura McLaurin was a model. When Williams was young, he did not fit in with the crowd. He always wanted to be isolated and play with his toys. When he was 16 his father retired and they moved to San Francisco. While taking his classes he decided to do an improv class, which got him started in acting. After that he dropped out of his old school from his major political sciences. And got to get a free ride into Julliard in NYC, because of his comedy club performance. He did his improv show and impressed Joseph W. Polisi president of Julliard college with is acting. Latter on in the school year however he dropped out because he felt it wasn't the place for him, and returned to improv. In 1978 when he auditioned for a part on Happy Days as an alien named Mork, He went in and they said to him " Can you sit like an alien?"( A&E Networks Television). When he sat down he went and sat on his head. And did the entire interview like that. That's how he got his big break by being his silly self, and putting his personality into his character and added a whole new life to it.  After he got that role he became a big hit all over the world. In that same year they gave him his own T.V show Mork and Mindy a spinoff of happy days. Just by that one episode he was in. In that moment he became an official actor. While he was on the show the developed a drugs and alcohol problem that would be an occurring problem throughout the the rest of his life.  In 1982 one of his best friends and fellow comedian John Belushi died do to an overdose. Robin was with John the night before he passed away discussing comedic skits.  "Robin was haunted by Belushi's death. He wondered whether John would still be alive had he stayed that night or whether he would have died with him, too."(Robin Williams cocaine Friend guilt over John Belushi Death) When John Belushi died he decided that he wasn't going to go down that same path, and entered into a rehabilitation center to stop the drug and alcohol addiction. In 1980 he hit the big screen in his 1st movie Popeye. He got the lead role as Popeye himself, but his first movie was a big flop. He was afraid to keep going into the movie business and getting another flop, but that would not stop him from trying. After a while he started to go into a number of movies such as Good Morning Vietnam(1987),  Dead Poets Society(1989), Hook(1991,) Aladdin (1992), Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) and Jumanji (1995).  In 1978, he married his 1st wife Valerie Velardi and had his 1st child Zachary Pym Williams, But shortly after he divorced her and married the nanny Marsh Graces in 1989. The press hounded her for being a husband stealer from Valerie Velardi. They had 2 children together Zelda Williams and Cody Alan Williams. Their marriage lasted 21 years before divorced in 2010. Even doing all of theses movies and remarrying he still made time for his kids and still put his heart and soul into the characters. "No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world."(Famous Quotes at BrainyQuote)

In his letter carrier his good friend Christopher Reeve got paralyzed from the neck down due to a horse riding accident. They meet at Julliard and were roomies together. When Robin found out he did everything in his power to make his friend happy again, and show him he had a life to keep fighting for. He went into that hospital room wearing blue scrubs speaking in a Russian accent saying it's time for Superman to get his rectal exam. "For the first time since the accident, I laughed, My old friend had helped me know that somehow I was going to be OK."(How Robin Williams May Have Saved Christopher Reeve's Life) He's a hero he gave his friend the determination to keep on living just by one simple joke. He then joined The Christopher Reeve Foundation and donated so much and took so much time to help his good friend. Only till later when he started his own charity Windfall Foundation. Were he went to kids hospital beds and cheered them up, and he went to war zones to go and entertain our troops before battle. He spread his happiness and kindness to everyone. He married his finely wife Susan Schneider in 2011. He was still acting that hole time while working with the charity. He had won an Academy award for Good Will Hunting and won three Golden Globe Awards. He did a few movies here and there, but then decided he wanted to take a different approach at acting in 2008. He decided he wanted to do a one man stand up comedy show and tour the world called Weapons of Self Destruction. He put everything he could into that show. He just wanted to make people laugh and be happy in ways that he could not be. But during the tours he started to become ill. After going to the doctors he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Which is cell damage to the brain. He keep it from the public because he didn't want his fans to worry and feel sad for him. He finished the roles he was in for some movies but some were still not complete. On august 11th 2014 he was found dead at his house by suicide. He hung himself at the age of 63 ending his career and everything else amazing he could have added to the world. They believe that he killed himself because of the Parkinson Disease and other forms of depression.

In the end Robin Williams left us so much, even if he had to end his life is such a horrible way. He did all these amazing things and helped change the film industry from what is was and made it into a more welcoming and fun place for all. He inspired people and made jokes to help ease people when they were in a hard place. He had showed us that when you are doing something you love and putting your own style to it. Not caring what people thought of you. Making people happy, and getting someone to crack a smile. That was all Williams wanted. He did that till his very end.
