What is a hero? A person that beats the villain in movies? Or is a hero a person that can fly? A hero is actually none of these things. A hero is someone that inspires you and accomplishes personal goals that he/she made. Certain traits make up a hero. A hero is strong, inspiring, and kind. Ryan Lochte fits every one of these traits. Ryan Lochte is a six-time Olympic medalist for swimming. He is the best swimmer in my opinion and a really good person as well. When I think of heroes I don't think of Superman or Batman fighting crime I think of Ryan Lochte diving into a light blue pool.
Ryan Lochte is one of the best swimmers in the world. He holds three world records. His best events are 200 IM, 400 IM, 200 free, and 200 free. One of the reasons Ryan Lochte is such a good swimmer is because he's loved swimming since he was 2. That's when he fell in a shallow pool and LOVED it. His parents thought he was screaming because he was scared but he was screaming because he didn't want them to take him out. Another reason Ryan is such a good swimmer is because he never stops practicing. His coach Gregg Troy makes him swim 18,000 yards a day which takes five to six hous. He also swims six days a week. With all that swimming he is bound to be an amazing swimmer. He is going to the Olympics in London this year and is actually expected to beat Michael Phelps. Obviously, Ryan Lochte is the best swimmer in the world this year. No question." That quote was said by Michael Phelps coach. Michael Phelps hasn't been practicing nearly as much as Ryan which means Ryan might beat Michael in multiple events. Besides being a fantastic swimmer Ryan is a great person as well.

Ryan shows he's a great person in many ways. For one, he helps smaller swimmers develop their swimming technique by using the money he earns to travel to them. He also uses his sponsorship money to give to charity. He sometimes shows up at younger kids' swim meets and signs autographs and gives speeches just to inspire and motivate the children. He will also show up at a meet without anyone knowing and ask the swimmers how their meet is going which makes the kids insanely happy. He tries to cheer up kids that he sees at the meets who haven't gotten their best times for that day. Ryan Lochte isn't only a fantastic swimmer but a very nice and genuine person as well.
I relate to Ryan Lochte because when I'm swimming in races and am really tired I can think of him and I'll get strength to keep going. He inspires me to an extreme level because of how good a person he is while also being a great swimmer. Ryan Lochte deserves the title of hero because he fits every trait that the word has. He is strong, kind, caring, and inspirational to other kids of any age. Ryan Lochte is the best swimmer on this planet and an amazing person as well.
With all the things he's done and all the things he's achieved in his life, how is this person not a hero? He's an amazing person and in my opinion the best swimmer in the world. He never quits and always tries his best in everything he does. Now you know what a true hero is. Not Superman or Batman or anyone that can fly. No, a hero is an amazing person that achieves goals. Ryan Lochte fits this definition perfectly.
