For my hero I picked Rodney Mullen. Rodney Mullen is a professional skater. He was born in Gainesville, Florida on August 17, 1967. Not that many people talk about him now. He invented mostly all the flip tricks like the tray flip and the kickflip. Rodney Mullen was sponsored by a lot of companies.
Rodney Mullen wanted to skate since he was able to walk but his dad didn't let him. His dad didn't want him to skate because he thought that Rodney was going to get hurt or hang out with the wrong crowd. Once Rodney turned 10 years old his dad finally let him have a skateboard. If he got hurt or didn't wear pads his dad would not let him skate anymore. Rodney avoided getting hurt and got sponsored. Then he became professional.
Rodney Mullen is my hero because of the tricks he invented. The tricks he invented are kind of hard. Before I started skating I sat at home watching TV or played games, now I skate mostly all day. I use to bike but all I can do is a wheelie, a catwalk, a tabletop, and a bar spin. Now I don't like biking so I go to the skate park and skate.
I try to create my own tricks. I have only created two but I don't have a name for them. The hardest tricks Rodney invented are, I think, the Tray Flip and the Impossible.
Rodney Mullen is a good skater. Some day I hope I can skate like him. Rodney changed how I skate and now I'm doing better. Ever since I started last year I have been getting better. One day I hope to be sponsored too.
