Romaine Simmons ( 2012)

My Grandmother, Romaine Simmons beat cancer and now she is giving back. She was sick for a long time and she was constantly in and out of the hospital. My grandmother has a great attitude in spite of all of this.

My grandmother does a lot to help others with cancer. She participates in walks for cancer and she collects tops off cans and takes them to hospitals.  She said, "You get lazy when you have cancer and you never feel up to do anything." So now it's important that she does what she can to help others. She loves to go on trips and she raises money for cancer.

She knows how people feel when they have cancer because she went through cancer. She talks to people about how bad her cancer was and how having cancer can make you lazy.  Sometimes you have to cut your hair off because the chemo treatment will make it fall out anyway.

My grandmother is nice, funny, and cheerful.  She likes to buy everything two times.   She has a big house. She loves to cook.  She has three kids and their names are Charlie, Tedo, and Angela. My dad Charlie is the eldest. She has a dog.  She is really cool to be around. My grandmother is the best grandmother that anyone could ever have.

My Grandmother, who is my hero, loves to give back to people that have helped her. She is a helpful a person.  That's all she ever does is help people!   She loves to help her family, sponsor cookouts, and go to the mall to shop for us. She is the best.  If she was your grandmother she would take you everywhere.  I love my grandmother and she is my hero!
