Rebecca

by Stephanie from Laredo

“Everyone can do their best if they set their mind on it.” -Unknown

I have many heroes in my life, but there is one person who really helps me through tough times and who I can look up to, to help me succeed in life. That person is my sister. My sister is named Rebecca, but likes to be called Becca. Becca is in the JV poms group in Smoky Hill High School and enjoys it very much. Becca is fourteen and knows what I’m going through in middle school. She used to go Laredo Middle School.

Some ways that my sister has helped me is that when I have a problem and I don’t know what to do, my sister always will always give me advice, even if it's not what I wanted to hear. For example, when there is drama in school, my sister will always help me through it and help me find ways to try to ignore it.

Some other reasons why my sister is my hero is because whenever I need help with school work, she explains to me how to understand it. My sister Rebecca knows what school work I’m doing because she used to go to Laredo for 7th grade and she knows what I’m learning about in that class and can explain to me an easier way of doing my homework.

Becca has given me advice about ways I can do better in school and at home. Whenever I get a bad grade on a test or something, Becca always tell me what I can do to increase my overall grade. She gives me advice at home because whenever I forget to do something or do something wrong, Becca always reminds me to do it or she shows me how to correct myself. For example, once when I didn’t help clean the house she reminded me that I needed to help.

All the things my sister has done for me have helped me, whether it was giving me advice or helping me with my school work. Becca has helped me be a better person and to not be embarrassed to show my real self.
