A hero is someone who doesn’t take advantage of the small things in life. She takes time to listen to others and shares her own experiences. There are many people in this world who are not recognized because they don’t have money or aren’t on TV. Some people don’t even realize that someone looks up to them and admires them. My hero is Rita Shalhoup. She has the hugest heart ever. She is an unsung hero that deserves to be acknowledged.

Mrs. Shalhoup is a spectacular hero because she is caring. She has a tendency to always be there at the right moment to help you feel better. She always knows just what to say when you're feeling down. Sometimes you may not always want to hear what she’s saying, but deep down you know it’s in your best interest. Most of the time she can relate to you from her own personal situation that she is going through or has dealt with. So, Mrs. Shalhoup is clearly a caring person.

My hero is one of the most loving people the world has ever seen. Her dad taught her to look at people for what is on the inside, and not the outside. He taught her to treat others the way she wants to be treated, therefore she treats everyone with the highest degree of respect and love. She always makes people feel so wanted, and the comments she gives make your heart jump for joy. With these actions, she is definitely a loving person.

This phenomenal woman is so strong-willed. She knows how to make it through the toughest situations. During our interview, Mrs. Shalhoup expressed to me that the hardest thing she had to go through was watching her daughter go through hard times and not knowing how to help her. Although those were hard times, she never let it affect her work. She always figures out a way to rise above her problems and learn how to expand her horizons. That makes her an angelic hero.

Rita Shalhoup is my hero because she is caring, loving, and strong-willed. She is a motivator and an outgoing person who has enough love to keep the world spinning. I learned that if you show people that you love and respect them, they will do the same. Heroes should be recognized whether they are rich and famous or poor and homeless. Everyone is a hero to somebody.
