This is Rick Riordan

To us, a hero is someone who inspires and entertains you; Someone who can overcome obstacles; And someone who is charitable and does good things for society. Through charities and life, what a hero does impacts us; and possibly becomes someone’s role model!

The people that we think fit this definition are authors J.K Rowling, and Rick Riordan; Who both have written two amazing series with extensions in other books. Harry Potter and Percy Jackson.

Ever since J.K Rowling was young, she had enjoyed reading and writing. She up this profession officially after she had gotten divorced and had to take care of her daughter by herself with no support before she had trouble supporting herself, let alone her daughter. Going through many rejections one publishing company accepted. She has now made a living with writing and donates to charities often. This is another reason why she would be our hero especially because she has even made a charity of her own to support single parents and their children, so they don’t have to go through what she did.

The first novel in "Percy Jackson and the Olympians"

Rick Riordan started out as a writer for his school newspaper in high school. He graduated with a double major in English and History. From there he became a teacher. Riordan taught grades 6-8, but then stopped to become a writer. All of his books have been best-sellers on the NY Times list for multiple weeks. Rick Riordan is the author of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians”, “The Kane Chronicles”, and “The Heroes of Olympus” children’s books series. Both of us really enjoy his work, and he inspired us to write, as well! One day, we would like to become authors ourselves because of his talent! Rick has also participated in different charities involving literacy awareness. He is also deeply involved with the issue of ADHD.
