Ryan Sheckler |
A hero is someone who is there for you, someone who is trustworthy, courageous, and stands up for you always. A hero doesn’t care if you win or lose, only if you have fun.
My hero is Ryan Allen Sheckler; his friends call him 'Shecky.' He is 5’8". His trademark is Shecklair. He started skateboarding at 18 months old, just rolling around, and started doing tricks at age six. The only subject he really likes in school is science.
He placed first in second stop of the Vans Triple Crown in New Jersey. His worst injury was when he fractured his foot in two places trying to smith grind a nine-stair rail. At age 13, he was he youngest skater to win a pro contest, when he competed at Vancouver Slam City Jam.
Ryan Sheckler is my hero because he inspired me to start skateboarding, and he has won a lot of contests, and he is a very good skater. He has time for skateboarding, and still has time for his friends as well.
He got his sponsorship start when he frequently visited a neighborhood skate-shop, and asked to display some of his trophies there. He is sponsored by Wold industries, Volcom, Tensor, Almost, Oakley, RDS, Boost, Ninja, and Grind King. He placed 2nd at the 2003 Globe World Cup, winning $15,000. He keeps packages of frozen skateboard wheels in his freezer so they last longer, and he has his own skatepark in his backyard.
