My hero's name is Sanford Fleming.He was born in Kirkcaldy Scotland in 1827. He grew up there then immigrated to Canada. Sanford had an older brother named David. Sanford Fleming enjoyed map making and he invented standard time. He also helped build the Canadian Pacific Railway.

I think Sanford Fleming's life was remarkable because he helped different people in so many different ways. Here are some examples: he was a map maker, he helped build the Canadian Pacific Railway and invented Standard Time. I think this person is admirable because he put other people before himself. These are nine examples of some qualities that Sanford Fleming had: intelligent, active, honest, mental strength, respectful, selfless, devoted and helpful. I think Sanford Fleming's most important quality in life was being helpful. I think his hardest quality to keep was being selfless. Sanford Fleming never in his life had made a major mistake. I think learning about Sanford Fleming taught me to help others more and also to follow your dreams. I don’t think it's true that you can judge the quality of a person's life by the enemies they make because Sanford Fleming made some enemies from just misunderstandings. I think Sanford Fleming's big brother David encouraged him to accomplish many of the things that he did. Sanford Fleming didn’t have any rules or beliefs to live his life.

I think being a hero means that someone helps other people in different ways like being a peacemaker hero or community hero those are some examples. I think Sanford Fleming is a hero because he made maps for sailors and explorers. He also helped build the Canadian Pacific Railway. A hero is someone you want to be like and a well known person is just celebrity. I’m not aware that Sanford Fleming had a hero. Sanford Fleming spent his later life living in Ottawa. Sanford Fleming is no longer alive, he died in Halifax in 1915. Sir Sanford Fleming was knighted by the Queen of England. I chose this person as my hero because I think this person is important in the history of Canada. I learned that whenever there is a chance to help someone you should do it and also you should follow your dreams.
