Susan Brownwell Anthony was born on February 15, 1820. She was born in Adams, Massachusetts. Susan had two brothers named Daniel and Merritt, she also had a sister named Mary. Her father's name is Daniel and her mother's name is Lucy. Her father built a school for his children since they couldn't get the same education as the other children. The school her father built was also in Adams, Massachusetts. When Susan was a little girl, she was very interested in the rights of women and not knowing that one day this would lead her to stop discrimination against women.

Susan's influences were women being treated unfairly and discriminated against, she thought this was cruel and unfair. She wanted to put a stop to it. She also thought that women being unable to vote for their own government was unfair. In 1863 Susan and Elizabeth Stanton started a campaign to put a stop discrimination against women. This influenced her because it led her to start a campaign with Stanton called "The Women's National Loyal League."

Susan Brownwell Anthony went through hostile mobs, armed threats, and things being thrown at her. She also had her picture hung up saying, "Don't listen to her, she will lead you in the wrong direction!" She even had her pictures dragged through the streets. These challenges affected her because it made her want to work harder at stopping discrimination against women.

The thing that Susan did that made me feel was important was that she helped to stop discrimination against women, she helped women to be able to have jobs, and to be able to vote for their own government. To me, without her we women would be jobless.

Susan is a hero to me because without her women wouldn't have jobs or be able to vote, no matter how old they were. Some of the character traits she show were: integrity, honesty, responsibility, and she was courageous.

I've pretty much told you everything; that she helped to stop discrimination against women. Some of the other things I can tell you are: that she persuaded a university to allow women to attend, that in 1920 women's suffrage was accomplished, and that sadly she died on March 13, 1906, meaning that she lived until she was 86.
