Susan Boyle (1961-) is known worldwide for her amazing singing voice and has sold millions of albums. Her voice was first brought to attention in 2009 when she sang the song "I dreamed a Dream" on Britain's Got Talent. Within nine days of this performance 1 million people had watched her sing on Youtube.

Susan was born on April 1 1961 in Blackburn, West Lothian, Scotland. Her father was a World War 2 Veteran and a part time singer at Bishop's Blaize, Her mother was a short hand typist, both of them had immigrated from County Donegal, Ireland. Susan was bullied and nicknamed "Simple Susie" at school. After leaving school with little job qualification she got a job as a trainee cook, took part in government trainee programs and performed at a number of local venues.

Before hitting stardom Susan performed in her local church choir The Ladie Lourdes. She also went to Edinburgh Acting School and had a voice coach named Fred O'Neill. In 1995 she auditioned for Micheal Barrymore's "My Kind of People" but Micheal was too busying making fun of the way she looked to care about her singing voice. In 1999 she sang for a charity Cd to celebrate the new millennium called Music for a Millennium Celebration, Sounds of West Lothian. Only 1,000 copies were made.

In August 2008 she auditioned for the third season of Britain's got Talent. She did so well that the judges were speechless when it aired on April 11, 2009 in instantly hit youtube and got 10 million hits. A little while after, her first album hit stores and sold 9 million in the first 6 weeks. She now holds the record for number one best-selling CD on charts around the globe, the oldest person to reach number one with a debut album in the UK, fastest selling debut album by a female artist in the UK and many more.

Susan Boyle is still making albums and going on tour today. She is one of the most inspiring singers ever born and will probably be idolized forever in time.
