Sandra Bullock

by Catherine from Roseville

"I'm a true believer in karma. You get what you give, whether it's bad or good." Sandra Bullock

A hero is someone you look up to or a person you look up to or a person who believes that you can be what you want to be. Well, Sandra Bullock is a hero and has the characteristics of a hero as well. She inspires millions upon millions of people each day. She is an inspiration to me as well. She knows compassion, bravery, and knows right from wrong. "I've made mistakes, and I know why I made them, but I made that choice. Nobody's ever made that choice for me." -Sandra Bullock This quote by Bullock means she has made mistakes in her past, but she fixed them herself, and no one made her fix her decisions.

Sandra Bullock was born on July 26, 1964 in Arlington, Virgina, a suburb of Washington D.C. Her father was stationed in the Army's Military Postal Service, and her mother was a professional opera singer. Bullock also has a younger sister names Gesine and their mother was a very strict person. Since her mother sang professionally, Bullock, sister, and mother were always traveling to Europe for her mother's tours. While in Europe Sandra and her sister would stay with their grandmother until her mother was done with her show. After her mother retired from singing they moved back to Washington D.C. When they moved back to Washington D.C. Sandra was a teenager and she attended Washington Lee High school. While in high scool she studied Ballet, Singing, and even though her mother was a very strict person she became a cheerleader just to annoy her mother and she was not happy about her decision. On 1982 she graduated high school, and decided to attend East Carolina University, and earned a degree in Drama. After earning her degree she moved back to Washington D.C.

While auditioning for roles, Bullock supported by working as a cocktail waitress, coat checker, and a bartender. After auditioning for roles, and at the age of 21 Bullock made it in her first off-Broadway production called No Time Flat as the lead. As the lead she played a Southern Belle. After her early years of acting, people started to discover this wonderful talented lady, and soon she starred in movies. The movies she has been in are, "Miss Congeniality", "Miss Congeniality 2", "The Blind Side", "The Heat", "Gravity", "The Proposal", and many other movies. As an actress she is always busy with her job, looking for roles, and looking at new movie offers. All the movies I've seen her in were great, she is so funny, and creative with the characters she portrays in movies.

In Bullock's hit movie "The Blind Side", it shows people how she portrays one of the main characters by taking in a homeless African American and giving him education, clothing, a family, and love. This hit movie inspires people who watch Bullock and can see that this movie shows respect, livelihood, love, and compassion for family. Because of the great acting, and relation to this movie it brought 248 million dollars in box offices, and it won an Academy Award. Another way Bullock cares for people is that she has funded many charities including The American Foundation for AIDS Research, Tuesday's Children, Partners in Health, and the American Red Cross. She also donated 1 million dollars towards Japan's Relief Fund for the Tsunami. It was the largest Celebrity Donation. Another way she inspires her community was when she adopted Baby Louis from an organization in Africa. He didn't have a home so after lots of paperwork she finally got Baby Louis, he was adopted in 2010. Right there is an act of kindness that Sandra shows. The way she inspires others is not because of her acting but because she worked so hard, and helped her community to get where she is today and helps support others in need.

Sandra Bullock is a role model people should look up to more often; very caring for her community, generous, focused, and fixes her mistakes when she makes them. "Everyone does things for Love." -Sandra Bullock This quote by her means to me that people do a lot of things just for love of family or anything important. "Failing is what we do, or stumbling is what we do on a daily basis." -Sandra Bullock. Bullock's quote on this means a lot to me because it tells me even though I have trouble with situations sometimes it always helps to say I'm not perfect, I make mistakes, but I can always fix them, and make them better.
