Stephen Curry

"If you don't, how are you going to know what getting up is like." -Steph Curry

Not everyone thinks of athletes as heroes. People think more about the money they make and the games they win. Not many people think of their lives outside of the sport they play. The athlete who we consider a hero is Stephen Curry. He is known for all of his amazing skills on the basketball court, but he also is a superstar off the court. He is always spending time with children's groups and inspiring them to become great people and amazing basketball players. Steph Curry has also inspired us to do the same.

Stephen Curry is a 27 year old superstar who lives in Oakland, California. He now plays for the NBA's Golden State Warriors. At the age of 21 Steph was drafted into the NBA. After the draft, Steph got the idea to help with various charities and children's groups. He then was married, and his wife, has recently gotten involved with his charity work. Steph and his family now work together to donate to people in different countries suffering from malaria. They have donated thousands of bed nets to those in need.

There are many reasons why Steph Curry is considered a hero all over the world. The website Future.com talks about how Steph Curry has inspired a young 13 year old boy to donate to people in need. The boy, instead of asking for presents for his birthday, instead asked for people to donate to a foundation called Nothing but Nets. Steph has also given him a lot of tips on life and tips on basketball. He taught him how to shoot a basketball, and to always believe in himself. This has inspired us to help out in the community and help with different charities, because we believe if someone our age has been inspired to do it, we can too.. We have participated and organized ourselves food drives, in which we donated to the Ronald McDonald house. we also have been inspired by Steph Curry's basketball skills, because he always is very good when he is playing, and he is always telling kids they "could be like him, if they continue to practice" So we continue to practice and try our hardest so someday we could play professional basketball like him.

Steph Curry may not be a hero to everyone, but he is to us two. Our definition of a hero, is someone that makes a difference in people's lives in a positive way. Steph Curry has definitely impacted our lives, and many other peoples lives too. Steph Curry donates bed nets to those who are in need, and are suffering from Malaria. Steph Curry has also inspired many young and old athletes to keep playing the sport of basketball. This is something that we definitely look up to a hero. We both started to play basketball, and look up to mentors like Steph Curry, who encourage us to never give up on our dreams.
