Stephen Hawking

Stephen Hawking was born January 8, 1942, meaning he is 67 years of age. His dad was Dr. Frank Hawking and his mom was Isabelle Hawking. His place of birth is Oxford, Oxfordshire, UK. He is mostly known for his studies in gravity, cosmology, and his studies in how black holes function. Hawking was also known as the Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge.

I see him as a hero because he has a special disease called Lou Gehrig’s Disease, which is a challenge to live with, but he still lives his life to the fullest. One of his accomplishments is that he is a distinguished research chairman at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario. Steven Hawking won an award called the Prince of Asturias in 1989, the Copley Medal in 2006, and has earned the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2009.

I chose Stephen Hawking cause I think he`s an important individual in society. Plus he`s a really smart scientist, whom I admire. I hope someday I could become a smart scientist like him because I want to know how black holes function.
