Saul Hudson (Slash)

For me a hero is the one who has succeeded in his life, someone that inspires you in your goals, someone that has been marked in history.

My name is Jorge Osorio García. I live in Tampico, mexico. I’m 13 years old and I love football, soccer and, especially, music. Some day I would like to be a professional guitarist, just as Slash.

Slash, real name Saul Hudson, was born in Hampstead, London, on June 23, 1965. He was the lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, now he is in Velvet Revolver, and he is one of the best guitarists of the world in all times. He got his first guitar when he was 14 years old by his grandmother. He spent a lot of hours practicing since then. He quit the school to focus on his goal; being a famous rock star.

He was influenced by Aerosmith, AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Erick Clapton, and many others. Then he was asked to play in Guns N’ Roses. Later, the group had problems and they split and he joined a new group named Velvet Revolver. He is the principal star in the video game called Guitar Hero 3.

I think that he is my hero because when he was a teenager, he left the school to accomplish his biggest dream or goal of playing rock. For me, he is the number one guitar player in the world. And he inspires me to be like him someday.
