"Your time is limited, don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma, which is living the result of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other opinions drown your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary" ("Steve Jobs Quotes."). This quote said by Steve Jobs holds the idea that you should live your life your own way. Not to be dictated by the herd of sheep, to have the courage to diverge from the norm. This is the reason why Steve Jobs is able to become a successful man during his lifespan and advances this world's knowledge about technology. Steve Jobs lived as the co-founder of Apple and was born in San Francisco, California. Steve ended up being put up for adoption, Steve Jobs then was adopted by Paul Jobs and Clara Jobs ("Steve Jobs Biography"). His first computer was sold in an expo which quickly gained popularity and lead to the founding of Apple ("Steve Jobs Biography"). In 1987, Steve was forced out of Apple when sales began to decline, but a decade later Steve bought his way back into the company ("All about Steve Jobs"). Under the influence of Steve Jobs, Apple flourished; an example of one of his miracles was when iTunes became the second biggest music seller ("All about Steve Jobs"). Steve Jobs is known for his Apple computers, iPods, iPhones, iPads and iPod touches. He was married to Laurene Powell and had three children with her ("Steve Jobs Biography"). Steve eventually resigned due to pancreatic cancer, Steve Jobs passed away in October 5, 2011 while fighting pancreatic cancer for ten years ("Steve Jobs Biography"). A hero must possess a resilient mind in order to accomplish their goals and overcome their obstacles. A hero also has to maintain an innovative spirit to change the world for the better. Steve Jobs' innovative mind and habit of bouncing back without a scratch is why people persevere to mimic him in hopes of being as successful as Steve.

Steve Jobs' wide repertoire of experience and visionary ideas is why Steve Jobs was an innovative individual. During Jobs' prime years in Apple he released an abundant collection of cutting edge products that dominated the technological industry: "Apple introduced such revolutionary products as the Macbook Air, iPod and iPhone, all of which have dictated the evolution of modern technology. Almost immediately after Apple releases a new product, competitors scramble to produce comparable technologies. Apple's quarterly reports improved significantly in 2007: Stocks were worth $199.99 a share-a record-breaking number at that time-and the company boasted a staggering $1.58 billion profit, an $18 billion surplus in the bank and zero debt" ("Steve Jobs Biography"). Steve Jobs is shown to be an innovative person by retailing a mixture of products such as the iPod, iPhone, etc. These products clashed with other big companies and swept the floor with their diverse features and original operating system. The fact that Apple's products feature a touch-screen was enough for their products to be the top dogs of their kind. Steve Jobs mental potential was also seen when the iPhone was able to call, features a GPS, a clock, and an internet browser. This affirms that Steve Jobs has innovative ideas. Focusing on the iPod, when it was retailed the music industry was promptly thrown out the window and culture itself was rewritten:  "In 2001 came the iPod, a portable digital music player that could hold hundreds to thousands of songs, and in 2003, iTunes, which allowed novices to burn their own CDs or download music directly on their iPod. Both created a whole new market for the music and computer industries as many tried to copy Apple's success" ("Steve Jobs" Newsmakers). Steve Jobs' iPod is an example of proof that he is an innovator. The iPod redesigned the music industry and effortlessly climb its way up to the top while knocking off competitors. The iPod shows that Steve Jobs has unique plans and is the key to a brand new age, the key being Jobs' inventive intellect.  Before the iPod existed, one had to go to a store, buy a CD and then use a music player to listen to the music they wanted. The iPod eliminated all of this because one could just download their desired music to listen to. Apple's music player didn't have to carry multiple CD's if they wanted to listen to more than one song. Steve Jobs was able to create an effective music player with plain ideas; it fits his extraordinary mind perfectly. Steve's unprecedented mind is reflected into Apple's merchandise.

Steve Jobs was blamed for a decrease in Apple's sales, despite the ridicule Steve Jobs shows resiliency amidst grim times. "But despite positive sales and performance superior to IBM's PCs, the Macintosh was still not IBM-compatible. Sculley believed Jobs was hurting Apple, and the company's executives began to phase him out. Not actually having had an official position with the company he co-founded, Jobs left Apple in 1985 to begin a new hardware and software enterprise called NeXT, Inc" ("Steve Jobs Biography"). The power or ability to return to the original form, position, etc., after being bent, compressed, or stretched; elasticity. ("Resilience."). The quote shows that Steve was able to recognize his decline and can bounce back on it as quickly as possible instead of brooding about it. When Steve Jobs was contracted with pancreatic cancer, Steve decided to receive surgery to stall his imminent death; this allowed Steve to finalize the project he was working on: "He was actually weeks away from death when he received a liver transplant in April 2009. But he came back to Apple, as planned, in late summer 2009, healthier though still very frail in appearance. He was eager to bring the finishing touches to a new project very dear to his heart" ("All about Steve Jobs"). Although Jobs was at death's door he was determined to work on a project that he cherished. It's amazing that he disregarded his health to accomplish his last design. It shows that resilience was very relevant when it came to Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs' determination allows him to be resilient in running the company; this is why Steve is a man to be sought after.

People seek to resemble a man like Steve Jobs because he is an innovative man who was changed this world many times and shows a strong resilience for life obstacles that would deter the normal man. Steve is able to use his mind to benefit the world as a whole. His innovative mind is why we don't have to buy a camera; it's why we don't have to take a piece of paper to write a note.  Along with Steve Jobs' innovation, it's established that Steve Jobs possesses a resilient characteristic.  Steve Jobs is an inspiration because he is an example of starting from the very bottom and working your way up the economic ladder. Apple was a company funded by the money gained from selling a calculator and a car which resulted in a company that is known globally and is considered common sense to have one of their products. It is amazing how a student's ambition can become a company that dictates a huge portion of today's world.
