Seishi Kishimoto - The first time I became aware of Seishi Kishimoto was when I was following the history of his famous brother Masashi. I came across one of his manga series and found it to be well written, with a plot that I could relate to. After much time and thought I narrowed down what I’d like to do when I start my career and found that drawing anime would be amazing. So from that day forward I wanted to draw anime for my career. Why not get paid for something you want to do?

A manga artist’s or mangaka’s salary is based on the level of experience and how many pages released in a set period of time. A beginner will make somewhere around $500 per 20 pages. Meaning that in 5 hours per page, or $5 per hour. It doesn’t sound like much but when you enjoy it, money really doesn’t matter. As a young child Seshi and his twin Masashi were always together, whether it be studying or drawing. They were each extremely gifted in the art of sketching and developing original characters. However since the brothers were with each other almost always, they were often influenced by the same in not similar things. This lead to people criticizing his work and often calling him a copycat, that was until his brother stepped in and argued that his brother was not copying him. Seishi has become a successful adult and will continue to make money as long as people are interested in anime and manga.

To the untrained eye, Seshi Kishimoto does not help contribute to society. However my Personal Career Hero does in a different way. Rather than feeding the sick, and giving to the poor (maybe he does but I don’t know), Seshi provides entertainment to the public, whether it be the people in Japan. Or it’s popular enough that it will travel across the seas to the U.S.

My goal in high school is to become a well-rounded individual. Enough that I will stand out in college entry papers and essays. I’m going to take many artistic classes, like animation. In College I plan on getting at least a Bachelor’s Degree, maybe even more. In my lifetime I’d like to become an anime artist, and or mangaka.
