Stephenie Meyer

by Kayleen from DuBois

"Everybody on set now gets to see what goes on behind closed doors"

Stephenie Meyer is mostly known and famous for her appealing books. In honor of the famous author Stephenie Meyer, I have previously done research about this hero in “Biography Today”. I chose Stephenie Meyer because of her influential ability to write and allow people to be able to visualize every moment of one of her books when they are reading them. Whenever someone picks up one of her books, they almost instantly want to live in the characters’ world after they have read a chapter or two. Stephenie Meyer has written very intense scenes in all of her creations, even though her beginning was kind of rough.

Stephenie Meyer was born on December 24, 1973 in Hartford, Connecticut. Stephenie moved from Hartford to Phoenix at the age of 4. When Stephenie Meyer was young, she lived with her parents, Stephen and Candy Morgan, and her 3 brothers and 2 sisters in Phoenix, Arizona, where her father was working as the chief financial officer at a contracting company. Growing up in such a large family was good for her writing abilities because it helped her understand many different personality types, as well as the way people interact around each other. Another inspiration that got her started on her path is how much her father enjoyed reading to his children, but not from books that were written for children her age, but from whatever he was interested in at the time. Thanks to her father’s influence, Stephenie never really read much children literature, even as a child. She still continues to read some of those books to this day. Some of her favorite classics include stories like Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte and Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Stephenie Meyer attended Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. She says that it was an affluent school, the kind of place where every fall, a few girls would come back to school with new noses, the kind of place where there were Porsches in the student parking lot. Meyer successfully graduated high school in 1992. When she graduated high school, she went Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. From there she majored in English.

Her career has brought her many good enjoyments. She married Christiaan “Pancho” Meyer the same year she graduated college. She gave up working outside her home due to the fact of she would be having her first son, Gabe, soon enough. Two more sons, Seth and Eli, soon followed after Gabe. Stephenie Meyer was offered a writing contract and soon started publishing.

The Twilight Saga had just started to form after a dream that Meyer had. The dream was about two teenage children intensely conversing about the problems that each of them faced because the girl was human and the boy was a vampire, and they were deeply in love. When Meyer woke up the next morning, she didn’t want to get out of bed, she knew she had many things to do that day, but she just laid there for a while, savoring every detail of the dream. She continued to think about the dream after she got up and began her daily routine. As soon as she could find a spare moment, and she began to write down everything that she could remember. That dream soon turned into Chapter 13 of the book, Twilight. Soon, she was able to finish the book and start on the second book of the series, New Moon. New Moon soon became a New York Times Bestseller. Then came the last two installments of what has become The Twilight Saga. All of Meyer’s books have become number one bestsellers.

Stephenie Meyer has become a very important part of many teens and young adults. Meyer still continues to influence and inspire many people with her fascinating books. All of this wouldn’t have been able to come alive if it wasn’t for her childhood. This is why Stephenie Meyer is my hero.
