Many people say that heroes have to be big, bold, muscular men in tights. Well, I don’t believe that. I believe that anyone can be a hero, even an author. Stephenie Meyer is the author of the Twilight series. This series includes the books Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. But in order to see how she is a hero you need to know which qualities a hero should have. Those are: determination, patience, and last you have to have a good imagination without which she couldn’t have written her books. Well, being a writer you have to have all of those things or you’ll never finish a book and she’s finished three.

Stephenie Meyer, having graduated college with a bachelor’s degree in English, now lives in Phoenix, Arizona with her husband and three sons. Publishers Weekly has said she was one of the most promising authors of 2005. She has made a huge difference in the world of reading. Her novels’ danger grabs hold of you and doesn’t let go until you have finished the book. But even then it doesn’t let go, you still know that the next book has even more excitement waiting to reel you in and have you turning pages, hypnotized by the vivid descriptions and imagery in her writing. This danger skyrockets when a secret love and hushed affection turn into a fight to stay alive and keep your loved-ones safe.

However, she didn’t start out in the writing limelight. She started out in Connecticut and was settled in Arizona by the time she was four. She went to high school in Scottsdale and from there went to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English, she had her three sons. Then when her youngest was a mere one-year-old, she started her writing career. Having two other kids ages six and three even she doesn’t know how she was able to find the time to write the book, having to juggle everything else as well, let alone going through the publishing process for three, that takes extreme patience, then again so does having three kids.

For two years her books have been on a best-seller list for almost every book store that has her books. They even knocked Harry Potter down to number nine. Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse have love and danger that latch on like a leech and refuse to let go. Edward loves Bella, Bella loves him back- shouldn’t the rest just be simple and uncomplicated? No, of course not, when you’re boyfriend is a vampire and refuses to change you into the thing you most desperately want to become. In order to write this phenomenal series you have to have imagination coming out your ears. If it weren’t for her determination to share her imaginative gifts then we wouldn’t have the three thrilling, page turning stories we have today. An example of how good they are is that one of my friends, who is nowhere close to a person who would read a four to six hundred page book, read the series and actually liked it. Stephenie Meyer is a paragon of imaginative wisdom who is one of the few who have used their talents to provide a career. Half of the greatest authors, painters, and creators don’t even share their talents with the world and these talents are rare.

Stephenie Meyer has an amazing gift for writing fiction and has used it to her full ability. Determination, patience, and imagination. Everyone has those abilities but in order to publish three books, raise three sons, and have a movie coming you have to be a pro at using them. Stephenie Meyer has become not only a pro but a master of these three qualities, especially with the three boys. She has been able to find the energy to raise her three kids, and take care of her husband, and write and publish three books, not to mention the book tours it would require to get the books seen in the public, and national, eye. She is my hero because she was able to do these things and still have time to spend with her family. I want to be a fiction writer and I can now learn from the best. She is the perfect hero within.
