Stephenie Meyer

by Sidney from DuBois

I was thinking about how disjointedly time seemed to flow, passing in a blur at times, with single images standing out more clearly than others. And then, at other times, every second was significant,

In honor of Stephenie Meyer, I did my research about this hero in “Biography Today.” I chose Meyer because I find inspiration in her mystical writings. After the research, I was glad I did because I learned so much about them.

Who knew such a normal beginning would give the world such a hero? Stephenie Meyer was born on December 24, 1973 in Hartford Connecticut. Born into the family of Stephen and Candy Morgan as the second child out of six, Stephenie has siblings, Emily, Heidi, Paul, Seth, and Jacob. The spelling of her name was changed from the original spelling “Stephenie”, so it was her father’s name with an “ie” at the end. I, for one, think it’s very creative.

Stephenie attended Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was an affluent school, “The kind of place where every fall a few girls would come back to school with new noses,” she commented, “and there were Porsches in the student lot.” Winning a national scholarship, she graduated with flying colors in 1992. Meyer chose to study at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and finally earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

Meyer was an avid reader and studied literature, but she never really planned on being a writer. Before settling on becoming a writer Meyer had thought about going to law school, but soon she married and had three children, thus sidetracking her career. One of her most famous writings (Twilight) all started with a dream.

Stephenie Meyer is important to mankind and changed the world. Her work has the most amazing effect on reluctant readers, young adults, and science fiction fanatics; it seems that they are sucked into the books. She has earned many awards and honors, and Meyer’s books include-
Twilight, 2005
New Moon, 2006
Eclipse, 2007
Breaking Dawn, 2008 (also known as the Twilight Saga)
The Host, 2008

Meyer hasn’t yet published another book, yet I believe that one day soon we will be seeing from this unbelievable hero.
