Have you ever wondered who was the mastermind behind the Nintendo? Shigeru Miyamoto started with Nintendo from his early ages. You will learn about his background; i.e. birthplace, family, and school. So, the question is now why does he matter? Miyamoto was the head of many world- renowned franchises such as Super Mario, Donkey Kong, Starfox, and The Legend of Zelda.
When the Nintendo company began branching out, Miyamoto helped design the company's first original coin-operated arcade game, Sheriff. He first helped the company develop a game with the 1980 release Radar Scope. The game achieved moderate success in Japan, but by 1981, Nintendo's efforts to break it into the North American video game market had been a complete failure, leaving the company with a large number of unsold units and on the verge of financial collapse. In an effort to keep the company afloat, Nintendo president Hiroshi Yamauchi decided to convert unsold Radar Scope units into a new arcade game. He tasked Miyamoto with the conversion with Nintendo's head engineer, Gunpei Yokoi supervising the project. That game was later turned into Donkey Kong which in turn spawned Mario.
Miyamoto has designed the most world renowned games in the world, from Mario to Zelda to Donkey Kong. He designed them from the beginning. Shigeru is continuing his work for Nintendo as the 3DS release is drawing near. Even at 58 the creative juices won't stop flowing.
Miyamoto is my hero because he got me into videogame designing which could lead me to a job. Miyamoto has never gotten down, if a game is not accepted well he keeps on going no matter the situation. He proves that with determination anything is possible (even at a old age).
Miyamoto is a head of Nintendo and a great person. He shows perseverance and determination which is appreciated by people like me. Others may not consider him a hero but he is a great person to me.
