Rescue workers remove Fr. Mychal Judge from the World Trade Center |
On September 11, 2001, there was a shocking event taken place in New York city. We all remember this as the attack of 9/11. On that day, lives were changed, lost, or saved. On that day, there was a firefighter who’s name is Stephen Siller. He was enjoying a day off just minding his own business, golfing with his family. Until he heard the shocking news, he was worried. He immediately left from what he was doing and ran 3 miles to the incident. There was a plane that had crashed in the building and people were evacuating quickly as possible.
Being the Heroic firefighter he was, he ran right into the action of what was going on. When he got into the building, he did his best to help as many victims of this attack as possible. He came out sometime later with very few people whom he had saved. Afterwards, he went back in, and a while had passed. Stephen Siller never came back out. Stephen Siller is a very Heroic firefighter. The reason being because of his Courageous, Brave, and Caring actions.
He is Courageous because his job is being a firefighter, and he does that exact same thing everyday. He risks his own life whenever he’s on the job to save others, or to just simply do his job because he wants to. He is also Brave. The reason why is because not a lot of people would go out of their way to be a firefighter or a cop, especially in the military. Those are 3 of the most dangerous jobs anyone can have, but only the Brave ones get into them. He faces everyday challenges just like anyone else would. Only his are more dangerous than others, and he could lose his life with one mistake on the job.
And last, he’s a Caring person. Mainly because he always did what he wanted to. Risking his life for others whom he’s never met, and just being there because he wanted to save lives and help others, not be a hero.
As a hero, Stephen Siller did a great work of effort on that job every single day. Especially on the attack of 9/11, he did the best he could to make a difference on that frightful day. On that day, many heroes made a difference, but many more risked their own to make that difference.

On September 11, 2001, you became a hero to many including everyone lost that day. It seemed like an ordinary day until the world was shocked with such drastic news. Two planes had crashed into the Twin Towers, which were believed to be high jacked by terrorists. Everyone in New York gathered around to see the incident themselves, just getting too close to the building was dangerous to anyone.
Firefighters, Paramedics, and Police officers from all over New York were at action with this event. In which many were lost on the drastic day. When all of this happened, you were just enjoying your day off golfing with your family. You yourself were one of the greatest firefighters in all of New York.
Shocked with the news, you received a phone call and were told about the recent events, and you left immediately from what you were doing and ran 3 miles to the scene of the incident. When you got there, you ran inside without a care in the world about anything else, and to only come out with 9 victims of whom you saved. Afterwards, you went back in to try and save more victims of the 9/11 attack, but time had passed and you never came back out.
With all of the events that happened that day, there were many who risked their own lives to save others whom they don’t even know. Heroes were made that day, including yourself. To me, you’re a hero to be recognized because of your bravery and courage you had as well as risking your life to try and save helpless victims. You may have only accomplished on getting 9 people out, but you gave a lot of heart that day. Therefore, you’re a hero.
Sincerely, Marco Flores
