"I feel I'm all over my movies. I know my movies are all over me." (Steven Spielberg). Steven Spielberg was a young boy, who at the age of 12, was very nerdy looking, often looked down upon and bullied by other kids. However, Spielberg grew up and became one of the most admired movie directors of the century. Born on December 8, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Spielberg was the oldest and the only son of four children. He was indulged at home being the only boy, but was not treated the same way at school(noteablebiographies.com). He had difficulty at school and made average grades which he later attribute to dyslexia ( a diagnosis made at a later age of 60) Spielberg started his career in filmmaking by using his father's 8 mm movie camera at an early age. With his deep passion for creating movies, despite his average grades, he is now a Hollywood legend. This is the success story of my hero -a man who despite of all the obstacles he faced, did not give up but remained zealous and determined to fulfill his dream of becoming a movie director.

Steven Spielberg was very zealous in creating movies and becoming a famous movie director. Furthermore, Spielberg's young age did not stop him from shooting movies. "Without concern that he was only 12 and didn't have much money, Spielberg went to the manager of the Phoenix Airport and somehow gained his permission to shoot fake dogfight scenes in the cockpits of Vintage airplanes."(Stevenson, Doug). Spielberg's passion for filmmaking gave him the courage to ask the manager of the Phoenix Airport so he could film movie there. He really wanted his movie to look realistic so he used real airplanes. Moreover, Spielberg had much zeal, even off set! "You feel loved in his films. Spielberg never sleeps, never rests at ease. Last year, during the Victory Tour, I was on vacation with him in the Hamptons. But instead of vacating like everybody else, he found a Betamax and we made movies. He put a plastic bag around the whole camera, taped it up and shot underwater scenes in the swimming pool. I worked the lights. He is constantly creating, because making movies is like playing. He will always be young. I love Spielberg so much, it almost makes me cry. He inspires me more than anybody on earth today"(Jackson, Michael). Spielberg is a man whose passion for movies is ingrained in him that he couldn't take a break from movie making even on his vacation days. He can always find innovative ways to create films. Spielberg is truly a man of zealousness that when he's on the Victory Tour with Michael Jackson, he decides that instead of relaxing with the Jacksons, he will make a movie at the hotel. When Spielberg's interest for movies sparked, his zealousness helped him attain his dream of becoming a very well known movie director.

Steven Spielberg is definitely one of the most determined film directors in the world, showing precision not only in all of his movies but also in the art of storytelling. For instance, "Even though his clerical intern job was over and he no longer had any business being on the lot, Spielberg knew that the guards would still recognize him, so he dressed in his suit and tie, grabbed an old briefcase, and as if in a scene from Indiana Jones, he walked right up to the gate, waved to the guards and strolled through onto the studio lot. He hung around every department he could get into, asking questions. He introduced himself to actors, producers and directors. He said he probably got kicked off of a set every day. Obviously, rejection didn't stop him"(Stevenson, Doug). Spielberg showed pure determination to become a film director and wanted to have connections with people in studio lot who he knew would help him. Every day for a whole summer, Steven Spielberg risked being thrown off Universal Studios but his determination for his talent to be recognized caused him to take major risks. One of the most iconic movies of all time, Jaws, was made and directed by Steven Spielberg but directing the movie was not an easy task. When Spielberg was working on the movie Jaws, Spielberg had many difficulties making the movie because he was filming it in the Atlantic Ocean. The robot that would play the shark kept breaking down, the salty ocean kept getting into the camera and the mechanical fish, and also the unpredictableness of the ocean always kept the director pulling his hair. Still, despite all these difficult conditions, Spielberg was determined to make this movie and became the most popular movie at that time when it was released.(Jaws: The Inside Story) Steven Spielberg as a young man was put up to the challenge to direct one of the most frustrating and most difficult movies to make. Through hard work and determination, Spielberg turned this challenging film to make into a classic! Steven Spielberg always show pure determination in his film making and because of this, he is now known as one of the most famous, powerful, wealthiest , award-winning director and producer.
