Sylvester Stallone

by Christine from LE TEIL

My hero is called Sylvester Stallone. He was born in New York in 1946 in a disadvantaged district of Hell's Kitchen. He is originates from the south of Italy. He is an actor, director, scriptwriter and producer of American cinema. He played in many films which include Rocky, Rambo, Tango and Cash, Cliffhanger, Demolition Man, Cop Land, The Expendables.

He was considered bad by his father, he was expelled from 14 schools in 11 years and elected by his classmates as the "most likely to end up in an electric chair". Follower of sports from adolescence (12 years), he did weight training in a gym opened by his mother in Philadelphia, and then tried football and boxing. He was also attracted to comedy and held leading roles in high school. He received a study grant rewarding his athletic talent that allowed him to continue his studies in Switzerland. Once in Switzerland, he had the opportunity to play in a play in which he discovered his new passion. As a young man, Sylvester followed acting classes at the University of Miami and continued castings. Back in New York, he appeared in several Broadway plays.

He is famous for his roles in the films Rocky and Rambo, to this day references to action movies. He participated in a campaign to draw attention to human rights in Burma.

For me, Sylvester Stallone is a hero through the films he played, but in real life he still persevered because he lived in a district disadvantaged and in spite of these expulsions from schools, he succeeded in life. Sylvester Stallone is my hero because in his movies he is brave, he pretends to be the strongest, and he has succeeded in life from nothing.
