Samori Toure

Al mamy Samory Toure (or Samori Toure) was born in 1830 to Minianbaladougou in present Guinea, who died June 2, 1900 in Gabon, was the founder of the Wassoulou Empire and resisted penetration and French colonization in West Africa. Born in 1830 to "Minianbaladougou" (currently in south eastern Guinea) .This son of Dyula traders grows in Africa West changing due to the increasing number of European contact. Trade with Europe had made rich some African states, however, that increasing use of firearms changed the traditional war. Early in his life, Samory converts to Islam. In 1848, the mother of Samori was captured during a raid by Sory Birama, clan Cisse and enslaved. Having arranged the release of his mother, Samori began serving Cisse and thus learned to handle weapons. According to tradition, remained at their service "Seven years, seven months and Seven days" before taking flight with his mother.¨He then enlisted for two years in the army of Berete, enemies of Cisse, before joining his own people, the Camrara. Named "Kélétigui (Warchief) in Diyala in 1861, Samory took the oath to protect its people against the Berete Cisse. Il and created a professional army and appointed his relatives, including his brothers and childhood friends, command posts. In 1864, El Hadj Umar Tall (or Oumar Tall), the founder of an expanding empire that dominated the upper Niger area, the "Tukulor» Empire died while this empire disintegrated, general and local leader struggling to create their own states. In 1867, Samori was a warlord in itself, with its own army regrouped to Sanakoroba in Guinean Highlands, on the shores of Upper Milo, a tributary of the Niger River and soon realized he had two spots accomplir paramount: to create an effective and loyal army with modern firearms, and build a stable state.In 1876, Samory could import loading guns bolt through the intermediary of the British colony of Sierra Leone. Il conquered the district Bure, rich in gold (currently straddling the border between Guinea and Mali), to strengthen its finances.En 1878, he was powerful enough to proclaim himself "Faama" (military leader) of his own Wassoulou.Il Empire did the Bissandugu its capital and began commercial and diplomatic exchanges with neighboring Toucouleur Empire and dying
