Shania Twain

Have you ever thought you were good enough to be a singer? Shania did, she started writing her own songs at the age of 10 and she always practiced her singing and playing the guitar. She never gave up on her dreams no matter what people told her. She went through hard times with her husband, but took the high road and it turned out to be good instead of terrible. I believe Shania Twain is a hero because she never gave up on her dreams and she also took the high road when her husband had an affair, she handled it with grace.

Shania's childhood was full of tragedy but it didn't stop her. Shania Twain was born in Ontario, Canada on August 28, 1965. She was raised in Timmins, Ontario, with her mom Sharon and her step dad, an Ojibway. She went to Timmins High and Vocational School. Shania's real name was Eileen but Shania changed it when she was 26. Shania was abused by her stepfather emotionally and sexually. She started to write songs when she was 10 years old and she would play them on her guitar. She started to sing at local resorts and also got a little bit of money. She started to sing on TV when she was about 20. The older Shania got, the worse things got, but some things got better.

Shania had to become more mature with her family and take things very serious after a very big tragedy that happened. When Shania was 22 she was with her friend, when she got a phone call from her sister. Her friend answered the phone and Shania knew something was wrong. When Shania took the phone, her sister told her that their parents had been killed in a car accident. Shania was now in charge of taking care of her three younger siblings.

Shania has been there for her fans and has stayed a good role model throughout her years. Shania is a 90's pop and country singer from Canada. She took lessons after high school in Toronto and later joined a band called 'Longshot'. Her talent was noticed by Toronto DJ, Stan Campbell, in the Autumn of 1984. Campbell was making albums at the time with Canadian musicians. Campbell got her a job as a background singer. She was featured on an album for Kelita Haverland and a few others. After she was more recognized, she was asked if she wanted to sign a contract for a few months with Mercury Nashville Records. She sang her heart out and started to become famous.

Shania has worked hard to get where she is now. It took many years of struggling and hard work, but in the end she got recognition and a huge fan base. She's still very popular and her concerts sold out (and still do) quickly. She hasn't gone on tour since 2004, but she still does concerts around the United States. Since the 1990's she's had a full house of fans in the United States. Ever since her 1st album was released she's been performing from coast to coast. She turned singing into a comfort after her parents were killed in the accident. Shania makes it clear to her fans that she loves them and that she loves to sing for them. She's stayed a good role model to her fans. When she performs she gets to reconnect with her songs. People always say she was born to take the stage and have fun with her fans. Over the years she has won many awards like ACM's, CMA's, Grammy's, and CCMA's. Those were won from 1995 all the way through 2003. Her greatest hits were released in 2004. She has done so much for herself and all of her fans to make them happy and proud.

Shania has a life outside of singing and that is her family, which is very important to her. She married Robert Lange in 1993, who worked with bands such as AC/DC, Def Leppard, and Foreigner. They had a son named Eja Lange, who was born on August 12, 2001, and is currently 12 years old. They were married for 17 years before she found out that her husband had an affair with Shania's best friend Marie-Anne Theibaud. She later divorced him on June 9, 2010. Later she married Frederic Thiebaud in 2011. She now lives a happy life with her son and husband.
