Stevie Wonder

by Jacob from Columbus

When people think of a hero, many qualities come to mind. These qualities include the ability to overcome adversity, the courage to follow your passions in life, and to be able to give back to society. Stevie Wonder once said, “Just because a man lacks the use of his eyes doesn’t mean he lacks vision.”

That is why I chose Stevie Wonder as my hero. He lives in Los Angeles, California. He was born May 15, 1950 in Saginaw, Michigan, but grew up in Detroit, Michigan. He is still living today. Stevie Wonder has made a big difference in the world. He has shown people that when overcoming obstacles, all you have to do is set goals and have confidence in yourself.

Stevie Wonder has accomplished a lot in his life. He plays many instruments, such as the harmonica, bass, drums, guitar and keyboard. Another accomplishment is that at the age of thirteen he had his first number one hit record, making him the youngest person ever to have a number one hit in the United States.

Even though Stevie Wonder was born blind, it never stopped him. What he has accomplished is an inspiration. Stevie Wonder has inspired me to set goals for myself and to never give up. I learned that if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.

Stevie Wonder is one of the greatest singers ever. He has made many accomplishments in his life. He has won over twenty Grammy awards, the most by any male solo artist in history. And has had over thirty top ten hits. He has changed people’s lives by giving them inspiration as musicians. But, his biggest accomplishment he has ever made is overcoming adversity. That’s why Stevie Wonder is my hero.
