"Going to the gym makes me feel normal. I am not. I am mutant"

I chose my hero because he is a great role model for people and is always encouraging others to do their best. He is always helping others be at their best physically and mentally.

Scott was born November 9th, 1974 in London Ontario. Today Scott is a successful heavy duty construction worker and a representative and body builder for the company Mutant. Scott is always doing his best no matter if he's on the job or just working away at home.

Scott's family consists of his mom, his dad and his 4 older siblings. When he was young he was involved in many physically demanding activities like football, rugby and wrestling. At 15 Scott started weight training.

Scott's hero is Arnold Schwarzenegger; he influenced my hero by always performing at his best. He also influenced my hero by never giving up and always having a positive attitude all the time.

Scott was involved in a terrible car accident the night before his stage debut. Doctors told him he was lucky to be alive. He broke his neck in 3 different places and punctured his lungs. He also lacerated his kidney, liver, and spleen. He was told he would never be able to work out again. Scott did not listen. He believed he could do whatever he wanted as long as he put his mind to it. He fought to train harder in spite of his injuries, knowing nothing could stop him. One year after his car accident he would return to the stage at Toronto Pro. He fought to train harder than ever, and even though his injuries were causing him unbelievable pain, Scott knew that wouldn't stop him.

He has been featured in a number of commercials and television shows along with countless bodybuilding and fitness magazine ads around the world. His massive size enables him to bench press 525lbs and squat 865. One of the many shows he has competed in is the T.I.P Bodybuilding Championships for Heavy Weight and Overall. He placed 1st. Scott is also currently opening his own gym.

My hero's character traits are responsibility, caring, optimism and courage. He shows the traits in the following ways:

Responsibility- he made himself responsible to get his construction jobs done and keep building up his strength for his other job with Mutant.

Caring- When I was little he was always there for me when I got hurt. If I fell or scraped my knee he'd be there to help me and he cares for everyone. One of his competitors fell off stage and Scott was the first one to see if he was ok and to help him up.

Optimism- Scott is always optimistic, saying that he can do anything he wants if he puts his mind to it. When he and I went to one of his rehearsals, his friend was eating of his country's traditional dishes he asked us if we wanted some. My uncle said yes, not knowing what it was and I didn't in case I didn't like it. My uncle said, "Try it. If you don't like it, you don't have to eat it."

Courage- He had courage when he worked out even though he had his injuries. He thought to himself, "Yeah this might worsen my injuries but at least I tried."

My hero influences me to always do my best no matter what the circumstances may be. He always tells me to be optimistic and try new things.
