My hero is Sophie Pascoe because she never gave up, even in the hardest of times, she just never gave up!
Sophie Frances Pascoe was born on the 8th of January 1993 in Christchurch New Zealand. Her leg was amputated below the knee when she was 2 years old after a lawn mower accident.
At 15 years old the paralympic swimmer went to the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing and received gold and silver medals for the 100m breaststroke and 100m butterfly.
Pascoe has got the title of New Zealand's favourite Paralympic Athlete in the nationwide voting competition.
I think it is good to persist just like Sophie Pascoe. Even if you are disabled it proves you can still do anything. She is an inspiration to us all.
