A hero is courageous, brave and has talent. I chose Sophie Pascoe because she inspires me in swimming.

Sophie was born on the 8th of January, 1993. She lives in Christchurch. Sophie started swimming when she was seven and I started when I was five.

She started competing when she was fifteen in Beijing and won four medals, three golds and one silver. She has won ten medals all together in two Paralympics Games.

Sophie lost her leg in a lawn mower accident that's why she competing in the Paralympics.

I look up to Sophie because I want to be an Olympic swimmer. She was the youngest New Zealander that competed in the Paralympics this year.
