Steve Romaniuk

A hero is someone who inspires, or makes a difference in an individual’s life, more then anyone else. My hero is Steve Romaniuk, or Romo as his friends and family would call him.

Steve is a professional freeride mountain biker. Steve is 22 years old, and is originally from Kelowna B.C. He finished his grade 12 education.

Some of his accomplishments include: winning 3 major competitions, and many other competitions all around the world. He has been in 15 different DVD’s with two more on the way for 2009. He has been in 14 seasons of the show ‘Drop In’ and the show is still running. And on top of all that, he was named best Freeride biker of 2007/2008 and he’s trying for 2009.

To me and lots of other young riders, Steve has influenced the way I ride more than anyone else, and I hope to someday be as good as he is, if not better. One of the things that makes him better than the rest to me, is that he rides the way he wants, when he wants, and where he wants.
