Shaun White

My hero is Shaun White. Shaun White was born in San Diego, California in 1986. Before he was a year old, he had two major surgeries to correct a heart defect. Shaun grew up in a family of five, which included his mom, dad, brother, sister, and him. He played a lot of sports such as soccer, surfing, and snowboarding at a young age. His family didn’t live near any mountains so they took family trips on weekends to snowboard.

I chose my hero Shaun White because he inspired me to snowboard and skateboard. Shaun is brave because he tries to perform the hardest tricks ever in the super pipes and gets almost 20 feet of air. He is also strong because one night, he banged his chin on the edge of the super pipe. It probably hurt a lot, but he didn’t give up, he kept on trying the trick until he landed it.

My hero inspired me to both skateboard and snowboard. He was probably inspired to skateboard and snowboard because of his brother Jesse. He skateboarded and snowboarded and was really good at it. Shaun probably learned a lot of cool tricks from his brother on the skateboard and snowboard. He also had many challenges in life like getting hurt or being injured. He doesn’t give up.

My hero Shaun made a difference in sports because he showed kids to never give up and keep on trying. He made a difference in my life because he was the one that got me to start snowboarding and skateboarding. He made a difference in the world because he repeatedly got medals every year for winning amazing challenges. He also made a difference in many little kids' lives by showing them that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.

To sum it up, I think that Shaun White is the coolest and most extreme person in sports history. He inspired me to snowboard and skateboard. Now when I grow up, I want to be a professional skateboarder and snowboarder like him.
