Regina Sandoval

by Stephanie

"School is the key to everything."

A Hero is someone who is brave, someone you trust and someone who is supportive. My Hero is my mom; her name is Regina Sandoval. She is my Hero because she’s such a supportive person. She keeps me away from harm. The things that I don’t need like drugs and boys. I know she just wants a better life for me.

My hero, Regina Sandoval, was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico in September 17, 1969. She grew up on the reservations with her seven brothers. Regina dropped out of school when she was in the sixth grade. Her family told her that school was just wasting her time, so she stopped going to school. To this day Regina regrets the mistake she did by dropping out of school.

Regina accomplished a lot of things in her life. She had accomplished eight wonderful kids and they are well educated. The most of all, she got a house that she always wanted. She doesn’t have a high school diploma, but she achieved a job. Regina thought that her life was going to be ruined forever when she had kids but her kids helped her with money and other things she needed help with.

Regina encourages her kids to go to school everyday and she doesn’t want any of her kids to drop out of school. She helps her brothers out with money and lets them stay over when they have problems. All of her brothers live on the reservations and it takes about two to three hours to get to Albuquerque. Regina loves to help other people.

I chose my mom, Regina, as my hero because she’s the most loving and caring person I ever met. I know no one as caring as her. A hero is someone who really cares about everyone. Someone who is not selfish about things. Someone who is always there for you to help. Regina is the number one mom in the world.
